Today we're talking about chapters 11-20: I swear this entire book is breaking my heart, but doing it so poetically. We start in the library with Arin and Kestrel. This line just about killed me. “Kestrel, when did I do it? I keep asking myself when I did the thing that was beyond your understanding. Was there one thing that made too many for you to forgive me? The lies—” OMG Poor Arin! He just loves her so much and doesn't understand what happened. It's so sad. After her talk with Arin, Kestrel decides she can't just stand by and do nothing. So she hatches her plan with the moths. This was such a cool way to communicate, so inventive. The Emperor, of course, finds out that Kestrel met with Arin, and was NOT happy about it. “You disobeyed me, Kestrel.
