Last night I got to see a double-feature of Mockingjay parts one and two. I liked getting to do that just to remind myself of the first movie, and to really get immersed back into the story. Also, I got to go with my YADC bud, Jenn from Bookshelfery , so we could fight over Gale and Peeta. Very important stuff, guys. To be honest, I had zero expectations of liking this movie. Actually, after I agreed to go, I thought to myself, why on earth are you going to see this? If you were around here when Mockingjay (the book) came out, you'll know why. I DESPISED that book. For so many reasons, which you can read about here if you're interested. So you can imagine my surprise when the credits started rolling and I realized I really liked this movie . Like . . . a lot. *I'm going into the rest of this chat under the assumption that you have read MJ and know what to expect.* So why did I like the movie so much better than the book? For those who missed The Hunger Games clip on the VMA tonight. Get More: 2011 VMA , Music Well....what do you think? I'm reserving judgement. Though I have to say, I saw Jen L. in X-men, and wasn't a fan. But hopefully she'll be amazing.  I'm learning to REALLY lower my expectations when it comes to books-to-movies.  I'm starting to get excited about this one though.  I love hype!               So there have been some rumors that Danny Elfman will be doing to the score for  The Hunger Games movie (out  3/23/12). I'm very excited about this! I've been a huge Danny Elfman fan for a while now, and I think he is a perfect choice for The Hunger Games .  But I am really surprised to find that a lot of people aren't very happy about Danny Elfman. So I thought maybe I would try to change some of your minds (: Here are some reasons I think Danny Elfman is absolutely perfect for composing The Hunger Games.  - He has incredible diversity with the way he composes music.  Well, I know that most of the blogging/twitter world has already heard this news, but this is for all my friends who find out Hunger Games news from my blog :D  According to EW Woody Harrelson is going to be Haymitch.  I tried to find the most Haymitch-ish picture to post for him because I'm having a hard time seeing him in the role.  I mean he can definitely play a drunk, but I guess I see Haymitch as older and more.....crotchety?  Or something.  I think this is like almost every other person they've picked, it's not who I would choose, but it might work. And in case you missed it earlier, they also picked Caesar Flickerman, the host of The Hunger Games.  (The one who talks to all the contestants and has such a good re pore with Peeta.)  Stanley Tucci will be playing this part, and I think he may be my favorite pick so far.  He seems perfect to me!  (Thanks, Leah, for the heads up on that one). One more role has been filled with the casting of Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane, the head gamesmaker of the 74th annual Hunger Games. The more people they cast for this movie, the more real it seems to me.  It's strange to think there will be a day when we say, "Hey, have you ever seen The Hunger Games?"  I really hope we'll be adding, "It was SO good, you should definitely see it!"  I guess time will tell.  I don't know that I've met anyone that is happy with the casting so far, but I guess we won't really know until it's done!  I think Wes could be a good fit for Seneca Crane.  So what do you think about Wes Bentley?
