I'm pushing aside the memory of my nightmare,
pushing aside thoughts of Alex,
pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school,
push,
push,
push,
like Raven taught me to do.The old life is dead. But the old Lena is dead too.I buried her.I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame.
Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

Review of the book: I don't even know where to start.  I tore through this book.  But while I was completely obsessed with it, it also kind of drove me crazy.  I was completely addicted to it, but I wanted to tear out my hair the whole time.  I loved Alex.  Like really loved Alex.  A LOT.  He was all that I could think of for the entire book.  I loved reading about everything that Lena went through and how strong she is no matter what gets thrown at her, but what I loved most about Delirium was the love story.  While Pandemonium was fantastic, and wasn't lacking in the love-department, it was lacking Alex, and I just found that hard to get over.

Let me try to clarify, I loved Pandemonium in it's own way, but I did not love it as a sequel to Delirium.  There was something about Delirium that was just... beautiful, and I didn't find that in Pandemonium.  I missed the quotes from the Book of Shhh, I missed Lena and Alex sneaking out to be together, but most of all, I missed the happiness that I loved in Delirium.  So I guess I'm not sure exactly where I stand with this book, I loved it, but I also wanted so much more from it.

Review of the audio: Pretty much I'm on the fence about the reader of this book.  There was nothing about her voice or reading that irritated me, but at the same time I didn't particularly like her either.  Nothing really stood out to me as good or bad, so my advice is this: if you're in the mood for an audio, I really liked Pandemonium as a book, so you could definitely listen to this one, but if you're not crazy about audiobooks, I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to listen to this one.

Finally, My Thoughts on Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins Audio  So, I was going through my old posts, looking for something to post today, and came across this.  I guess I never posted it, because I was just so angry and disappointed.  Plus, I think I had talked so much about it, that I was sick of talking about it.  And also, I feel like there were so many things that bothered me that I couldn't get it all down.  But, I thought it might be fun to post this, and see if anyone is interested in it.  So, here are my bitter and resentful thoughts on Mockingjay! :P 8-30-2010 *spoilers galore* After reading Mockingjay all day on Tuesday, I left Wednesday morning to go on vacation for my anniversary.  All I could think about was Mockingjay.  You might think that's a good sign, like it was so well done that I couldn't forget about it.  But, for me, it wasn't.  I was so disappointed in this book.  Honestly, if I hadn't loved the first two books so much, I pr...
