My review of Belles

Review:

Winter White is a continuation of the story that began in Belles.  While Belles was told mainly from Izzie's point of view, Winter White is from Mirabelle's.  The girls are still adjusting to their new relationship as half-sisters as well as the accompanying media attention.  Added to that is the stress and drama of preparing for their debut at the Emerald Cove Cotillion Club.  There was pledging, rush, initiation, dresses and projects to be completed.  And of course there are boys! 

This story is an easy, fun book to read.  It opens up the world of politics and high society through the eyes of teenage girls.  There is a moral to the story but it is wrapped in cotton candy and pretty dresses so it is easy to take. 

This is suitable for all ages and I would recommend it.

    Mirabelle was such a difficult character to like in the first one. But it will be interesting to see how she treats her new sister now.

    I'd love to read this story (and the first one as well.) Winter White sounds unique and the characters are interesting.

    I like that the perspective is changing in this book. I really didn't care for Mirabelle in the beginning of Belles, but I eventually came to understand her point. It'll be nice to see things from her eyes for a while. Thanks for the review!

    I like that this one is from Mirabelle's view. I didn't like her much in the first book, but hopefully she has continued to grew and become a better person.

Finally, My Thoughts on Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

  Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins Audio  So, I was going through my old posts, looking for something to post today, and came across this.  I guess I never posted it, because I was just so angry and disappointed.  Plus, I think I had talked so much about it, that I was sick of talking about it.  And also, I feel like there were so many things that bothered me that I couldn't get it all down.  But, I thought it might be fun to post this, and see if anyone is interested in it.  So, here are my bitter and resentful thoughts on Mockingjay! :P 8-30-2010 *spoilers galore* After reading Mockingjay all day on Tuesday, I left Wednesday morning to go on vacation for my anniversary.  All I could think about was Mockingjay.  You might think that's a good sign, like it was so well done that I couldn't forget about it.  But, for me, it wasn't.  I was so disappointed in this book.  Honestly, if I hadn't loved the first two books so much, I pr...
