I'm really, really excited about this Reading Clean Spotlight. I haven't seen too much about this book in the blogging world, so I'm hoping that this spotlight will bring some much deserved attention to this fantastic book. I really loved it, and I hope that you do too!! One thing that I really love about this series is that all three books are coming out in the same year. What a fantastic way to put out a series!!

And thus does she come to be rescued by the knight-prince Marcello Falassi, who takes her back to his father’s castle—a castle Gabi has seen in ruins in another life. Another would be Ancient Greece. I love Greek mythology. It would be cool to see what it was like when the gods were the big thing.
Last one I'm would pick (right now at least) is Egypt during the time of the pharaohs. Just sounds cool, in my opinion. (I like Egyptian mythology too.)

I would like to time travel to the time when people in England wore corsets so I can experience even just a day in it. :)

Oh gosh, this is very difficult for me to answer because there are so many eras I would love to travel too! I am not that big into fashion today, there are time periods that I would like to travel to specifically to prance (or not prance - since breathing could be difficult) around in huge, beautiful dresses. I would love to go to the victorian era. To be more specific, I would love to go to a fancy victorian era ball. I know it is kind of lame, but I DREAM about those balls. With group dancing where everyone magically knows the steps and looks awesome, and everyone has to be polite and talk all formally. I could really talk about this for too long of a time to be acceptable anywhere, so I am going to stop now. Haha, thanks for the giveaway.

I really used to want to travel back to the regency time period in England. After having read P&P and all that sort of stuff I was convinced that there couldn't have been a better time. I mean fun dresses lots of parties and young gentlemen. Who could want more. Well then I sort of grew up a bit and now I think if I were to travel to that time I would more than likely be the chamberpot maid. And who wants that. Yuck! Plus, those same young gentlemen weren't always nice to the chamberpot maids. So now I guess I am glad to be here. But if I could choose to be one of the privileged I would still try out the regency period just for a small vacation.

So many place and time I want to visit for few days or so. I'd like to be in Paris during the Belle-Epoque in 1890's to experience the luxury and simplicity of life during that time with the technological and sociological innovation. Hmmm...I think I would chose Renaissance England for one reason only: to meet Queen Elizabeth I. There's something about a woman running an imperative country in a man's world that speaks to me. I know that many books romanticize this time period, but in truth it is so full of history and ties to the founding of our own country. It would just be fascinating to experience (even for a few minutes).

I know it's such a cliché and I know it probably wasn't all that glamorous if you consider the lack of medicine and higine and knowledge we have today and I probably wouldn't live long without electricity, but still. ReplyDeleteThis is such a hard question. First of all, all I can think of about traveling back in time are the caste systems and what if I wasn't "allowed" to see and do everything that I wanted to because of my caste or gender for that matter. Women haven't been treated the greatest thoughout time. For that reason one of the first thoughts that popped into my head was 1940s United States just to experience our country when it was truly great and we had so much national pride. But then again I hate the racism in the South of Blacks and of the Japanese during the war etc. so I'm not sure how much I would have liked that. I grew up in Idaho and have always had an affinity of the stories of the Native Americans and the Wild West so that might be cool as well, but the treatment of the "Indians" was horrific too. Then I saw someone else's answer of going back to the time of Jesus, that would be so awesome to even just catch a glimpse of Him that it might be worth whatever injustices were happening just for that one moment in time. Did I make this difficult enough...HA!
