Considering, I did something for you I have never done before for Reading Teen. Yes, I let you peak into my bedroom--bad lighting and all--with no makeup on, and wearing the same thing I wore yesterday. Still, I know some of you YA die-hards might find this all worth overlooking just to hear about Riders. If not, here it is as simple as it gets:
Action: Yes!
Romance: Sorta
Main Character: Yes (Yes--we like. But his horse scares us and his super-power sucks)
World: Contemporary/Paranormal
Things I liked: Cool idea to take from Revelations & make paranormal
Things I didn't like: Boring right before the end
For those of you who want the more detailed version, just watch this video:
Content
Sexuality - Mild
Language - Moderate?
Violence - Moderate (war, good vs. evil magic)
Ethereally and unequivocally penned by Elisa (@AverageAdvocate) who mostly writes for www.AverageAdvocate.com, “Inspiring the average American to change the world.” She occasionally dabbles in fiction hidden among others at www.LesNomsDePlume.com and thanks to good people like Andye, is also a YA hobbyist. Elisa also really needs a new picture, because she hasn’t had red hair in like, forever.

For eighteen-year-old Gideon Blake, nothing but death can keep him from achieving his goal of becoming a U.S. Army Ranger. As it turns out, it does.I have a whole bunch of half-written reviews for Reading Teen, and I knew that I would never get around to writing one for Riders by Veronica Rossi for you. But, as Riders is just about released, I didn't want you to miss out on getting our perspective because it is a great story and I think many of you will love it!
Recovering from the accident that most definitely killed him, Gideon finds himself with strange new powers and a bizarre cuff he can't remove. His death has brought to life his real destiny. He has become War, one of the legendary four horsemen of the apocalypse.
Over the coming weeks, he and the other horsemen--Conquest, Famine, and Death--are brought together by a beautiful but frustratingly secretive girl to help save humanity from an ancient evil on the emergence.
They fail.
Now--bound, bloodied, and drugged--Gideon is interrogated by the authorities about his role in a battle that has become an international incident. If he stands any chance of saving his friends and the girl he's fallen for--not to mention all of humankind--he needs to convince the skeptical government officials the world is in imminent danger.
But will anyone believe him?
